Children benefit by attending a Montessori program
for any length of time. However, their experience is
enhanced and enriched by extended exposure. This allows
more time for individual and social development.
Children practice the skills they need to become
confident, responsible human beings and participate as
members of a harmonious society. The Montessori approach
to child development in education encompasses a wide
range of experiences.
The School Day Program begins with the morning class and
continues with lunch. The children help with the
preparation of a dining experience, joining in
conversation with their growing circle of friends. They
help to set the table and serve, thus growing in
courtesy and proper etiquette.
In addition to the challenges of the excellent
Montessori hands-on activities, we offer a variety of
additional experiences during the extended hours:
- Grace and Courtesy
- Cooking and Baking
- Art and Creative Expression
- Language Arts, Dramatics and Story Time
- Outdoor Play Time
- Science Explorations
The School Day Program allows each child additional time to
learn at his or her own pace progressing toward
concentration, inner discipline and self-confidence in a
nurturing community atmosphere.
